If your printer does not support the AirPrint feature, you can also print from an iOS device like iPhone without AirPrint. Install the printer application on your iPhone to print and scan from it. Most of the printers have the printing/scanning application that can be installed on an iOS device.Some of the printer applications available on the iPhone are HP ePrint, Brother iPrint&Scan, Epson iPrint, and Canon Easy-Photo print. Follow the steps indicated below to add the printer to your iPhone without AirPrint.

Connecting the Printer to the wireless network:

Make sure to configure your wireless router to add the printer to your iPhone.
If your printer has a touchscreen display, you can easily select the Wi-Fi icon to open the Wi-Fi Setup wizard. If not, use the navigation keys to select the options.
Select your network and enter the password for it. Then, press the OK button.
Once the printer gets connected to the wireless network, install the printer application on your smartphone.

Connecting the iPhone to the wireless network:

Open Settings from your iPhone and select Wi-Fi.
Choose your network from the list and enter the password of the network to get connected to it.

Installing the application on your iPhone:

Open the App Store application on your iPhone.

Search for your printer application.

Select the application and tap Get.

Touch Install to activate the application on your iPhone.

Open the application and follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer.

Select the Add Printer option and choose your printer from the displayed options.

After the printer is added to your iPhone, you can print and scan from your iPhone wirelessly.

You can also connect the printer and iPhone using a USB cable.

Open the document/photo which you want to print, tap on the Share icon, and select Print.

Under Printer Options, select your printer if it not automatically detected.

Choose the number of copies and other printing preferences. Then, tap Print.

Since the Printer and iPhone are on the same wireless network, the document/photo will get printed

Open the printer’s application to scan a file from your iPhone.
