Method 1: Enable “Network Discovery”

The Network Discovery option helps your computer detect the devices that are connected to the same network. Check whether this option is disabled on your computer. If yes, enable it. To do so, follow the instructions below:

• On your Windows computer’s taskbar, click on the Start menu.
• Type the Network text in the Search box.
• Now, from the suggestions list, select the Network & Sharing Center option.
• Now, click on the Change advanced sharing settings option.
• Go to the Home or Work profile and click on the Turn on network discovery option if it is disabled.
• Click on the Save Changes button.

Now, try to perform the print operation. If your computer still can’t find the printer on a network, then perform the next method given below.

Method 2: Enable “File and Printer Sharing”

The printer may not get recognized by the computer over a network if the File and Printer Sharing option is disabled on your computer. To enable this option, follow the below instructions.

• In the Network & Sharing Center window, locate and click on the Turn on file and printer sharing option.
• Make sure to save the changes by clicking the Save button.
• Now, perform the print operation.
